Promo MINI is an R56 2007 MINI Cooper S in Laser Blue
with White Roof and Caps.
Initially a BMW MINI launch car, Promo MINI is fully speced with Chilli
Pack, Sat Nav, Full Business Bluetooth, Centre Arm Rest with mobile phone docking, Panoramic Sunroof, iPod Interface, Multi-Fucntional
Steering Wheel and automatic gearbox with flappy paddles. The car was also fitted with webspoke split rim alloys which
have now been removed to fit wheels and tyres from our sponsors AC Schnitzer and Pirelli.
Work started
on the 2010 Promo MINI at Wollaston MINI of Northampton on Monday 1st February 2010. The day commenced with meeting
Wollaston MINI Manager - Michael McKenzie at the design studio at 8.30am. By 2.30pm it was a short drive back to the studio
to collect a semi-completed Promo MINI and then the Wollaston Service Team started work on replacing the brakes as part of
the routine service. Throughout the day Wollaston Staff entertained me to the highest standard, which to be honest, was enhanced
by their very own cafe, something that is uncommon with other BMW MINI Dealers.
 Thursday 4th February saw another early rise and a
drive to AC Schnitzer in Dersingham, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk to collect four new AC Schnitzer Mi2 Alloy
Wheels to be fitted to Promo MINI. After a welcome cup of coffee and discussions regarding the fitting of AC Schnitzer decals
to Promo MINI the return journey was made to Lincoln which can be quite frustrating on Lincolnshire Roads and this day was
no exception. The journey back to the office lead me to be one of the first at the scene of an Articulated Lorry having flipped
a car on it's side. With the extended journey due to the diversion, the brightly gleaming AC Schnitzer Mi2 Alloy
Wheels were safely delivered back to the office for all to admire.
With the tailgate up the AC Schnitzer logo can be seen by all. This goes
to show the fine detail and planning that went into the AC Schnitzer NEW MINI DAY Promo MINI.

The next day, Friday 5th February and another
very important delivery arrived at the office.
This time it was eight tyres from the Pirelli
Tyre Company. Part of the sponsorship deal with Pirelli is to aid the maintenance of Promo MINI throughout the Show
Season. However, Pirelli were of the opinion that our GP MINI support vehicle should also be maintained. To that end Pirelli
sent four Pirelli P Zero Nero 225/35/18 tyres to be fitted to the AC Schnitzer Mi2 Alloy Wheel rims on Promo MINI and
a futher four Pirelli P Zero Run Flat 205/40/18 tyres for our GP MINI support vehicle.
During
this time Promo MINI was sent to the Sign My Ride UK Studio in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. There, Theron Denyer along
with NEW MINI DAY's Matt Taylor attended to the finer details of Promo MINI.
Thursday 11th February
2010 and another interesting telephone call. The conversation went like this. "Hi Nick, it's Daniel from
AC Schnitzers". "Chris Rossiter and I have been looking at the pictures of your MINI and we are not happy with it".
Daniel continued, "It needs lowering. We are going to send over some AC Schnitzer lowering springs, can you get them
fitted as soon as possible?" My reply, "Wow! Thanks Daniel thats great! Yes! Leave it with me and I will arrange
fitting".
Another call on the same day was from Michael McKenzie of Wollaston MINI.
Michael advised that the NEW MINI DAY 2010 car stickers will be available soon. I can confirm that the very attractive external
stickers have now been received with one sticker sent FREE with each ticket purchase transaction. Please
